Play XL juggling ring [A40]

The latest ring from play juggling looks similar to Mister Babache’s XL ring but there are a number of interesting differences; It is slightly thicker which should make it less hard on the hands although rings this size are always going to hurt………..Secondly it has a slightly smaller diameter (40cm versus 40.5cm) and the body is wider (4cm versus 3.5 cm). This should make it easier to throw precisely as it sits better in the hand. With the larger body width and thickness, we would expect this to be a heavy ring but Davide has designed an indent into the ring which brings the weight down to 125 grams making it substantially lighter than Babache’s ring (140g). The downside of this is that this ring is more flexible than Babache’s but you only really notice it when beginning a pattern; once the rings are in the air, you don’t feel that they are too flexible. I think the lighter weight is a great idea as most people will come to this size of rings after normal sized ones and will be less disturbed by the weight change but the flexibility might make it harder to start seven.
