Contact juggling is where the ball always remains in contact with the body of the juggler, rolling across the hand, arms & even the head. The balls used for this are mainly Acrylic for their weight and amazing esthetic properties. A variation on Contact is called Multi-ball which involves manipulating up to 5 balls in each hand, not to dissimular to the chinese ying yang type metal balls with bells in them, only here there are no gimmicks, only a spectacle of grace & skill to admire.
The ideal size to start contact is as close to 80mm as your budget will allow. Don’t buy anything under 68mm for one ball contact as it will look shit. The 100 or 110mm are great for head rolls.
